OK… so it has been a while since I’ve been able to get my act together, but just this past weekend I finally managed to rise early enough to make my way to a favorite place with my camera in hand as the sun came up. It felt REALLY good to be standing on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean as the night slowly gave way to a new day, and although I have photographed this scene many times, I was very happy to be back in the saddle again.
what a beautiful photograph! composition, light, detail, just lovely. exposure time ? Congratz!
Thanks Gabriel… I appreciate the very kind words.
I am not human before noon… but I have wonderful memories of dawn coming up on the Maine coast. I think you caught the image in your photo… almost can smell the salt air.
Thanks Merrill… I don’t think there’s a better place to be as the sun comes up.
Fabulous sums up this picture
Why thank you… I got a couple more from this same morning, but I never get tired of seeing this scene.
I always envy the “good” eye when it comes to composition. It’s a gift. I take decent pictures but I don’t have the eye
Look at what others have done (and what you have done) compositionally and try to figure out what it is you like about a particular photograph. Try different angles, different focal lengths, different points of view… most of all, keep making photographs!
I will do that.
Well done, David…and welcome back. 🙂
Thanks Scott. It felt good to finally be back in the park for sunrise. Pictures were a bonus 🙂
I know how that feels…as beautiful as they can be and are, the photos are secondary to simply being there. 🙂
I don’t know how you do it, but every new shot is better than the previous one. I really love your work.
Thanks Belen. As always, I appreciate your support.
