Stratheden Path, Acadia

Our original plan had been to follow the Jesup Path to the Loop Road and then climb up and over Kebo Mountain, but since it was getting later in the afternoon and our tummies were sending us a message, we decided to cut our hike short and use the Stratheden Path to get back to our starting point. The Stratheden Path is a gentle 0.7 mile hike/walk from the Loop Road to the Hemlock Road near the Sieur de Monts parking lot, and although it does not have many changes in elevation, it does offer a kid-friendly walk through some beautifully strong birch and maple trees. As we enjoyed the peaceful and calming scenery, the birds were in full song and the young foliage absolutely radiated in color. Grumbling stomachs won out, and after dinner in Bar Harbor we wrapped up another wonderful day in Acadia with what else… ice cream at Ben and Bills 🙂

  1. Oh, the greenery is beautiful! Florida doesn’t seem to have that shade of green…drought and forest fires tend to drown out those colors. This is spectacular!

Dena… thanks. We are lucky that we get a mix of seasons here in Maine, and the greens at this time of year are pretty special.

I'd love to hear from you...
