Still on my Ireland kick


I am still on my Ireland kick, and it has me rummaging through older images from the last time I visited home about five years ago. This photograph was made on a late summer evening right after a rainstorm, offering a nice view across Lough Erne toward Devenish Island. Located just outside Enniskillen in County Fermanagh, and where I first started teaching after graduating from college, Devenish is a pretty special place that is rich in history dating back literally thousands of years.

The row boat in the foreground was a lucky find, and I think it provides a solid anchor and focal point to what for me was an already beautiful scene. Still thinking about how to get home…
