It is already 2010 in Ireland as I write this, but we still have over 4 hours to go here on the east coast. I imagine the celebrations back home were quite something, but it will be a pretty quiet night here in the Patterson house as we ring in the New Year.

When visiting Granny and Grandpa in New York over Christmas we were lucky enough to catch the tail end of a rare big snow event. As you can see in the image above, Jack enjoyed getting outside in the balmy 40 degree temperatures and playing in the snow. His snowman friend didn’t last long in the warm sunlight, but while he was around he provided lots of enjoyment.
If you believe those whose job it is to forecast the weather we could be in for quite the storm over the next few days. They are calling for anywhere between 12 and 24 inches – yes, that’s right… two feet of the cold stuff! The joys of living in Maine… should make for an interesting weekend!
