From a very peaceful afternoon spent along the shore of the Atlantic Ocean in Acadia National Park. The incoming tide was hardly noticeable, and the surf was almost non-existent. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the water in this cove so calm – it was as though I was on the edge of a lake rather than the mighty Atlantic. As I perched myself on a couple of larger boulders to frame the composition below, I liked how the white puffy clouds in the blue June sky mirrored what little surf there was, and who could ignore those beautiful, round, smooth rocks.

Wow! Nice photos!
Thanks Alex. I appreciate you stopping by and leaving the kind words.
You are welcome! Do drop by my blog too!
It was like that yesterday morning too (Sunday) along the Ocean Path. That water was smooth and unruffled as glass. Sure did not look like the Atlantic ocean!
As I’m sure you know, it can change in a heartbeat.
That’s what keeps us coming back for more!
You’re photos make it look like it might be warm enough to enter the water though I know better about the northern Atlantic. Cheers.
Sounds like you know all about those 55 degree waters around here
That last B&W photo is very fine, the white clouds and the white splashing water is a great comtrast to the rest of the photo!
Thanks Truels… those puffy white clouds were a treat!
I love the feeling of the water gushing towards you in the back and white. And you’re right, David, those rocks are beautiful!
Thanks Karen
Very nice, David…I enjoy the portrait shot that includes all of the elements…earth, water, and sky…very pretty.
Thanks Scott. It’s one of those middle of the day photographs that just seemed right for black and white.
You’re welcome.
Just returned from Cape Cod. My rock photos don’t have the same oomph! that yours do!
Hope you had a great time on the Cape… another of my favorite places. I spent three glorious summers on the Cape a few years back… love that sandy place.
Superb as ever.
Thank You!
